Job Title: Secondary Teacher
Location: Darlington
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting committed and enthusiastic Secondary Teachers to work in schools across Darlington.
This rewarding role involves delivering high-quality lessons across secondary key stages while supporting students according to the curriculum and syllabus. The successful candidate will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their academic potential and develop confidence in their abilities.
Responsibilities of a Secondary Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach students across relevant key stages and subject areas
- Support students according to the curriculum and syllabus
- Assess, monitor, and track students’ academic progress
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and encourage active participation
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, and classroom materials
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff
Secondary Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, ECT/NQT, or equivalent teaching qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area
- Previous experience teaching within secondary schools is desirable
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Passion for teaching and supporting student achievement
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
