Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: £460 – £650 per week (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive school in Sheffield. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or individuals with classroom or youth-based experience who are passionate about supporting students.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere in the absence of teaching staff.
Key Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor:
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a variety of subjects.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students with their work and encourage engagement and participation.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide feedback to teachers and complete basic reporting tasks.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a school or with young people (desirable).
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant, or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Confidence leading groups of students.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
