Job Title: Behaviour Support Mentor
Location: Northumberland
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are looking for committed Behaviour Mentors to support students across schools in Northumberland. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping pupils overcome behavioural and emotional challenges while promoting positive engagement in education.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work with students who may require additional support with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development. You will act as a positive role model, helping pupils build confidence, improve behaviour, and remain focused on learning.
Main Duties:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Support students in developing confidence, resilience, and social skills
- Help pupils stay engaged with lessons and school routines
- Work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads
- Build professional and trusting relationships with students
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is beneficial
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, proactive, and patient approach
- Ability to manage challenging situations professionally
- Flexible and dependable attitude
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
