Rate: £95 – £115 per day (dependent on experience)
A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-established Resource Base within a mainstream primary school in Tameside from September.
This is a highly supportive setting designed for pupils with additional needs who benefit from a more structured and specialist environment while remaining part of the wider school community.
The school is looking for someone with genuine SEN experience who can confidently support pupils with a range of needs including:
- Autism (ASC)
- Speech & Language needs
- SEMH
- Communication and sensory needs

About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant (Resource Base)
As part of the Resource Base team, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Help pupils regulate emotions and engage with learning
- Use visual aids, communication strategies, and sensory approaches
- Support transitions between the provision and mainstream classrooms
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who require consistency and patience
The successful candidate will need to be calm, proactive, and confident working in a specialist SEN environment.

- Previous experience working within SEN settings or resource bases
- Strong understanding of Autism and additional learning needs
- Excellent behaviour management and emotional regulation support
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider SEN team
