GSL are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Level 3 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs within an Ofsted‑rated Outstanding school. This role involves providing both 1:1 support and small‑group interventions, helping pupils to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As part of a highly supportive team, you will work alongside experienced teachers, SENCOs, and specialist practitioners to deliver high‑quality, inclusive support tailored to individual needs.

 

Position: Teaching Assistant - Level 3 
Location:  Romford
Salary Scale: £90-£115 
Contract Type: Full-time

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • 1:1 and small group support — Provide dedicated support to pupils with additional needs, ensuring they can access learning and make progress.

  • Implement Personalised Plans — Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to deliver and adapt individual learning plans.

  • Classroom & Intervention Support — Support pupils during lessons, lead small‑group interventions, and reinforce key skills in English and Maths.

  • Behaviour & Regulation Strategies — Use positive behaviour approaches tailored to each pupil’s needs.

  • Holistic Support — Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, promoting confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Enrichment Activities — Support pupils in Forest School, sports, enrichment clubs, and school trips.

  • Collaborative Working — Work with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure consistent, joined‑up support.

 

Skills & Qualities Needed

  • Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach

  • Ability to use initiative and work collaboratively

  • Experience with SEN/SEMH is beneficial but not essential
