Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
Are you passionate about supporting young children in their earliest stages of learning and development? A welcoming and nurturing early years setting in Barnsley is seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their team and help create a positive, engaging start to education.

The setting is a warm and inclusive early years environment that prioritises child development, wellbeing and strong foundational learning. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, stimulating space where children are encouraged to explore, learn through play and build confidence in their early communication and social skills. Consistency, care and positive relationships are central to daily practice.
About the Role:
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will support children across EYFS, helping them develop key early learning skills through structured activities and play-based learning. You will work closely with the class team to deliver engaging experiences that support development across communication, physical development and personal, social and emotional growth.
Responsibilities:

Support children within an EYFS classroom environment

Deliver play-based learning activities that support early development

Assist with planning and setting up engaging learning resources

Support children’s communication, language and social skills

Help maintain a safe, caring and stimulating environment

Observe and report on children’s progress and development
Requirements:
-
Experience working with children in Early Years or a nursery setting is desirable

Understanding of EYFS framework and child development stages

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patient, caring and enthusiastic approach

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Genuine passion for supporting early childhood education
