Job Title: Behaviour Support (Primary)

Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

A supportive primary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support assistant to work closely with pupils who require additional guidance to stay engaged in their learning and school routine.

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support (Primary) staff member, you will work with pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 who may need additional help with emotional regulation, social skills and classroom engagement. You will support learning both in class and through targeted interventions, helping children develop positive behaviours and build confidence in a school environment.
Responsibilities:

Support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs across primary year groups

Provide one-to-one and small group support to promote positive engagement

Assist class teachers in managing behaviour and maintaining a calm classroom

Help pupils develop emotional regulation and social interaction skills

Support the delivery of structured routines and consistent expectations

Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
-
Experience working with children in a primary or early years setting is desirable

Understanding of behaviour support strategies or SEN/SEMH needs is beneficial

Calm, patient and consistent approach to challenging situations

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a school team

Genuine commitment to supporting children’s wellbeing and development
