Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

A welcoming and inclusive school in Doncaster is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and support pupils with a range of special educational needs.

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will support children with a range of needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence and engage positively with their education.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEN needs across KS3 and KS4 classrooms

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs

  • Assist teachers in adapting learning activities and resources

  • Support pupils with engagement, communication and behaviour in lessons

  • Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment

  • Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to monitor progress

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable

  • Understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD or learning difficulties is beneficial

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, caring and resilient approach

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team

  • A genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs in education
