Learning Support Assistant – SEMH / Behaviour
Location: Selby
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full Time / Part Time
Start Date: Immediate or September 2026
GSL Education are recruiting a proactive Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs in Selby.
About the School
This inclusive specialist setting supports pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access education. Staff work collaboratively to provide a calm, structured and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils during lessons and interventions
- Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Assist with emotional regulation strategies
- Provide 1:1 and small group support
- Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams
Requirements
- Experience supporting SEMH or behaviour needs desirable
- Positive and resilient approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
