Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Location: Selby
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: Immediate or September 2026

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist SEMH setting in Selby.

About the School

This provision works with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support in order to access education successfully. Staff prioritise consistency, relationship building and positive behaviour support.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and routines
  • Assist with classroom engagement and emotional regulation
  • Promote positive relationships and resilience
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams

Requirements

  • Experience within SEMH or behaviour-focused settings preferred
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Calm and resilient attitude
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
