Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Darlington
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting motivated and supportive Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to work in schools across Darlington.
This rewarding role involves working closely with teachers and students to provide tailored support within the classroom. The successful candidate will help students access learning, build confidence, and develop both academically and personally within a positive and inclusive school environment.
Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:
- Support students with their learning across a range of subjects
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
- Help students complete tasks and remain focused in lessons
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements of a Learning Support Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Patient, supportive, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A genuine passion for supporting learning and development
- Relevant education, childcare, or support experience is beneficial
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
