Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Rotherham
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
GSL Education are delighted to be partnering with a supportive and inclusive school in the Rotherham area to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA). This role is ideal for individuals with resilience, empathy, and a strong passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those who may present with additional behavioural or emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEN.
- Implement effective strategies to support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils as a consistent role model.
- Support students with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
- Promote inclusive learning by adapting tasks and creating a nurturing environment.
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
- Experience working with SEN, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in a range of situations.
- Understanding of safeguarding, inclusive education, and behaviour support strategies.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, childcare, or Psychology degree) are desirable.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
