Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £160 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you a passionate English Teacher looking to inspire students through language and literature?
GSL Education are currently recruiting dedicated and motivated English Teachers to work in schools across Newcastle.
This rewarding role involves delivering engaging English lessons to students across different key stages 3, 4 and 5, helping them develop strong reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities of an English Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach English Language and Literature across relevant key stages 3, 4 and 5
- Assess, monitor, and support students’ academic progress
- Prepare lesson materials and classroom resources
- Encourage student participation, creativity, and confidence in learning
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour and a supportive learning environment
- Support students with coursework, revision, and exam preparation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff
Requirements of an English Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Experience as an English Teacher is desirable
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Passion for teaching and supporting student achievement
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
