Job Title: Cleaner
Location: Northumberland
Salary: £13 – £17 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated and dependable Cleaners to work in schools across Northumberland.

This rewarding role involves supporting the cleanliness and hygiene of school premises to ensure a safe and positive environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high cleaning standards throughout the school site.

What you have to do as a School Cleaner:

  • Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas
  • Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Safely use cleaning equipment and materials
  • Refill cleaning and hygiene supplies where necessary
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times
  • Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain tidy environments
  • Report any maintenance or health and safety concerns to the relevant staff
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and site teams

Requirements of a Cleaner:

  • Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of basic health and safety procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
