Job Title: Cleaner
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £13 – £17 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting dedicated and dependable Cleaners to work in schools across Newcastle.

This rewarding role involves ensuring school premises are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. The successful candidate will help create a safe, tidy, and positive environment for students, staff, and visitors throughout the school day.

Main Responsibilities of a Cleaner:

  • Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school site
  • Safely use cleaning equipment and products
  • Refill cleaning and hygiene supplies where required
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times
  • Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain tidy surroundings
  • Report maintenance or health and safety concerns promptly
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and site teams

School Cleaner Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
