Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only

Salary: £92 – £115 per day
Are you a compassionate and resilient Complex Needs Support Worker looking for a Teaching Assistant position, and is passionate about supporting children with additional needs?
GSL Education are seeking a Complex Needs Support Worker to support students with complex learning, communication, and physical needs at a special needs school in Scarborough.
As a Complex Needs Support Worker, you will provide tailored, individualised support alongside teachers and support staff, promoting independence, communication, and engagement while ensuring a safe, nurturing learning environment for pupils with high levels of need.
Complex Needs Support Worker Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with complex needs in lessons and daily activities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning plans
- Assist with personal care where required
- Support communication development using appropriate strategies and resources
- Help manage behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Complex Needs Support Worker Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with complex needs or SEN
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow structured support and care plans
- Willingness to support personal care needs
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
