Caretaker

Location: Darlington
Salary: £13 - 17 per hour (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

A welcoming and supportive school in Darlington is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to maintain the school premises and ensure a safe environment.

The successful Caretaker will support the day-to-day management of the school site, ensuring facilities are secure, clean and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities of the Caretaker:

  • Opening and closing the school site.
  • Carrying out maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Monitoring health and safety compliance.
  • Ensuring site security.
  • Maintaining cleanliness across the premises.
  • Supporting a safe and well-presented environment.

The Ideal Caretaker Will:

  • Have previous site or maintenance experience.
  • Be proactive and reliable.
  • Have strong practical skills.
  • Be organised and able to work independently.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
  • Have a fully checkable work history.
