Cover Supervisor
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £90 - 120 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
A welcoming and supportive school in Middlesbrough is seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join their team. This Cover Supervisor role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with the work provided.
Key Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:
- Supervising students across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher.
- Delivering pre-set lesson plans and ensuring students complete assigned work.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Supporting students with their learning and maintaining engagement.
- Providing feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
- Ensuring a safe, positive and productive learning environment.
The Ideal Cover Supervisor Will:
- Have previous experience working with young people (school-based experience is desirable).
- Be confident managing classroom behaviour.
- Possess strong communication and organisational skills.
- Be adaptable, proactive and resilient.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
- Have a fully checkable work history.
