Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are looking for compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistants (SEN TA) to work across welcoming schools in the Newcastle area. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with a range of additional needs, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement needed to succeed.

Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Will Include:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Assisting in the delivery of personalised learning plans (EHCPs)
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Supporting students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Assisting with classroom activities and adapting resources where necessary
  • Always following safeguarding and school policies

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students (school, care, support work, or similar)
  • Strong communication, patience, and empathy
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A calm, adaptable, and proactive approach
  • A relevant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
