Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As an Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring attendance data, identifying patterns of absence and working closely with families and staff to improve pupil attendance. You will play a key role in promoting good attendance habits and ensuring safeguarding concerns are escalated appropriately.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track daily pupil attendance records

  • Identify and follow up on patterns of absence or lateness

  • Contact parents and carers regarding attendance concerns

  • Work closely with safeguarding and pastoral teams

  • Maintain accurate attendance data and reports

  • Support initiatives to improve whole-school attendance

  • Liaise with external agencies where necessary

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a school or administrative setting is desirable

  • Strong organisational and data management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Confident using IT systems and attendance software

  • Ability to handle sensitive information professionally

  • A proactive and detail-focused approach
