Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about supporting young children in their earliest stages of learning and development? A welcoming and nurturing early years setting in Barnsley is seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their team.

About the School:

Staff work closely together to create a safe, engaging and supportive space where children are encouraged to explore, play and grow with confidence. There is a strong emphasis on positive relationships, consistency and early learning foundations.

About the Role:
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will support children aged 2–5 within a structured early years setting, helping to deliver engaging activities that support early development across communication, language, social skills and early numeracy and literacy. You will work alongside staff to create a stimulating environment where children feel secure, supported and ready to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging early years activities

  • Work with individual children and small groups to support development and learning

  • Encourage communication, social interaction and independence skills

  • Maintain a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment

  • Support behaviour and emotional development in line with early years practice

  • Assist with daily routines, including play-based learning and structured activities

  • Observe and feedback on children’s progress to support planning

Requirements:

  • Experience working within early years or childcare settings is desirable

  • Understanding of EYFS framework is beneficial

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, caring and nurturing approach

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Genuine passion for supporting early childhood development
