GSL are seeking a dedicated, dynamic, and adaptable Teacher to join a specialist SEND provision supporting children and young people with a range of additional learning needs, including SEND, SEMH, and experiences of trauma and adversity. This role involves delivering high-quality, personalised education within a nurturing and inclusive secondary environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

You will work alongside experienced teachers, pastoral teams, and SEND professionals to support students both academically and emotionally, helping them develop confidence, resilience, independence, and engagement in learning.

You will have opportunities for professional development and will support students in a range of settings, including:
• Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
• Supporting students with SEND, SEMH, trauma-related needs, and behavioural challenges
• Providing personalised learning and intervention strategies to promote progress and engagement
• Supporting students’ emotional wellbeing, resilience, and personal development
• Working collaboratively with pastoral teams, safeguarding leads, and external professionals
• Acting as a Form Tutor and building strong relationships with families and carers
• Contributing to enrichment opportunities, wellbeing initiatives, and wider school activities

As a Teacher within this specialist provision, you will play a key role in supporting students’ academic progress, emotional development, and overall wellbeing. You will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and able to succeed.

Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver high-quality, personalised lessons to meet a range of learning needs
• Adapt teaching approaches to support students with SEND, SEMH, and trauma-related barriers to learning
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
• Support safeguarding, wellbeing, and personal development across the provision
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, SENCOs, and external agencies
• Act as a Form Tutor and maintain positive communication with families and carers
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic learning environment

Qualifications and Skills:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Strong understanding of SEND, SEMH, and trauma-informed practice
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students and families
• Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
• Passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable young people
• Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
