Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are searching for a motivated Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to work in schools across Barnsley, delivering high-quality lessons that develop students’ technical understanding, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
In this role, you will plan and deliver structured lessons that support pupils in designing, making, and evaluating projects, while ensuring a safe and productive workshop environment.
About the role:
As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in developing students’ practical skills and creative thinking. You will encourage innovation while helping learners apply theory to hands-on, real-world tasks.
Core responsibilities:
- Deliver well-planned Design and Technology lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Support pupils in designing, developing, and evaluating their projects
- Promote safe use of tools, equipment, and materials
- Encourage creativity, independence, and problem-solving
- Maintain strong classroom behaviour and a structured learning environment
- Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
What we are looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience working as Design and Technology Teacher in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of workshop safety and practical materials
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
