Music Teacher
Location: Lewisham
Salary: £165 – £265 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Long Term, Part-Time (2 days per week)
GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Lewisham on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to contribute to a vibrant music department and inspire students through engaging and creative teaching.
About the Role:
As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students across KS3 and KS4. This part-time role includes full teaching responsibilities such as planning and marking, making it ideal for an experienced teacher looking for a rewarding fixed-term opportunity within a supportive school environment.
Responsibilities for Music Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Music lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Teach Music to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Prepare lesson materials, assess student work, and provide constructive feedback.
- Monitor and track student progress, supporting their academic development.
- Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that fosters creativity.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including extra-curricular activities such as choir and school bands.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards.
Requirements for Music Teacher:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for music education.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Excellent organisational and classroom management skills.
- Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities is highly desirable (e.g., choir, bands).
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
