Geography Teacher
Location: Hackney
Salary: £185 – £265 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long Term until July 2026
GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver engaging Geography lessons and support students’ academic progress in a supportive and inclusive environment.
About the Role:
As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons and maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the permanent teacher. You will play a key role in inspiring students and promoting a love for Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Accountabilities of the Role:
- Ensure all students reach their full potential through high-quality teaching.
- Build positive relationships and maintain high standards of behaviour.
- Track and monitor student progress effectively.
- Stay up to date with developments in Geography education.
- Work collaboratively with the Geography Subject Leader to support curriculum delivery.
- Contribute to school policies and promote equality and inclusion.
- Support the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities.
- Engage with parents, carers, and the wider community.
- Help develop and enhance the Geography provision within the school.
- Maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
- Carry out additional duties as reasonably required by senior staff.
Requirements for Geography Teacher:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Geography up to Key Stage 4.
- Strong classroom management and subject knowledge.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
