Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Sheffield
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Play an important role in improving student outcomes by promoting excellent attendance and supporting pupils to engage consistently with their education!

GSL Education are hiring a professional and organised Attendance Officer to join a school in Sheffield. The Attendance Officer will work closely with staff, students, and families to monitor attendance, address concerns, and encourage positive attendance habits across the school.

Responsibilities of Attendance Officer:

  • Monitor daily student attendance and maintain accurate records.
  • Follow up on absences, lateness, and attendance concerns promptly.
  • Communicate with parents, carers, and external agencies where required.
  • Support the implementation of attendance improvement strategies.
  • Produce attendance reports and maintain confidential documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral and safeguarding teams.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an administrative, pastoral, or school-based role is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and data management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.
  • Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented approach.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
