Pay Rate: £95-£110 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Long-term, Full-time
Working Hours: 8.30 AM-4.15 PM

GSL Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Newham.
This opportunity is suited to individuals who have a strong background supporting children with complex Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) needs and who are confident providing tailored support within a structured primary school environment.
As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to help students access learning, develop communication skills, and feel secure throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Deliver dedicated individual support to students with additional learning and behavioural needs.
- Encourage student participation within classroom activities and daily routines.
- Implement personalised strategies to support communication, engagement, and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN professionals to meet individual learning targets.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing where required.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- At least one year of experience supporting children with high-level ASD needs within an educational setting.
- Recent experience working in a primary school environment.
- Ability to provide structured and effective 1:1 support for students with additional needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN support strategies and behaviour management approaches.
- A calm, patient, and professional attitude when supporting students with complex needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- An updated CV covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps.
