Job Title: Year 1 Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S6)
Pay rate: £120-£220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Long-term (permanent placement for the right candidate)
Are you a creative and dedicated Year 1 Teacher who can inspire young learners at the start of their school journey?
GSL Education are searching for an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Sheffield (S6) on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive KS1 team, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and structured lessons, helping pupils build strong foundations in reading, writing, and numeracy. The successful candidate will be nurturing, organised, and passionate about early years development, with a strong focus on creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 1 pupils
- Support early literacy and numeracy development, with a strong focus on phonics
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Monitor and assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
- Promote positive behaviour and a love of learning
- Work collaboratively with KS1 staff and wider school team
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1 in a school setting
- Strong understanding of phonics (highly desirable)
- Ability to engage and inspire young learners
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
