Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S9)
Pay rate: £90-£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to work in a welcoming school in the S9 area of Sheffield.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour and is passionate about helping children re-engage with learning through consistent, supportive intervention.

Prime Responsibilities of Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Provide targeted behaviour support to pupils across the primary age range.
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to promote positive engagement in learning.
  • Support pupils in managing emotions and developing self-regulation strategies.
  • Implement agreed behaviour support plans consistently.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure pupil progress and wellbeing.

Requirements of Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people in schools or youth work settings is preferred.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Resilient, patient, and proactive attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
