Are you an experienced education professional ready to take the next step in supporting teaching and learning across a primary setting?
GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from confident and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to work in a primary school in Sheffield (S8). This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils across KS1 and KS2, covering classes and delivering targeted interventions.
As a HLTA, you will play an important role in supporting teaching staff, leading learning activities, and helping pupils make strong academic progress across the primary curriculum.
Key Duties of HLTA:
- Deliver planned lessons and cover whole classes in the absence of the teacher.
- Support teaching and learning across KS1 and KS2.
- Plan and deliver small group interventions to support pupil progress.
- Assist with assessing pupil understanding and providing feedback.
- Support behaviour management and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Work closely with class teachers and senior staff to support learning outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a primary school setting.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Experience covering classes and delivering interventions.
- Good understanding of the primary curriculum (KS1 and KS2).
- Confident, proactive, and adaptable approach.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
