SEMH Teaching Assistant – Behaviour Support
Location: Market Weighton
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: Immediate or September 2026
GSL Education are recruiting a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs in Market Weighton.
About the School
This specialist setting focuses on supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs through strong pastoral support, structured routines and personalised interventions.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Encourage engagement and positive behaviour
- Work closely with pastoral and teaching staff
- Promote pupil wellbeing and resilience
Requirements
- Experience supporting SEMH pupils preferred
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Calm and resilient approach
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
