Position: Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
Location: Essex
Salary Scale: £120 – £320 per day
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026

GSL are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teachers of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to join supportive and forward-thinking secondary school settings. These roles involves delivering engaging, high-quality, and interactive language lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a modern foreign language.

You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to inspire students, promote cultural awareness, and support learners in achieving their full academic and personal potential within a positive and inclusive learning environment.

You will have opportunities for professional development and will support students in a range of settings, including:

  • Delivering engaging and differentiated MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Preparing students for GCSE assessments and examinations
  • Encouraging confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
  • Promoting cultural awareness, communication skills, and independent learning
  • Monitoring and supporting student progress through targeted intervention and feedback
  • Supporting enrichment opportunities, language clubs, trips, and wider school activities

As a Teacher of MFL, you will play a key role in supporting students’ academic achievement, confidence, and enthusiasm for languages. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an engaging curriculum and create a supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality MFL lessons
  • Inspire students through creative and interactive teaching approaches
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations and assessments
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and a love of language learning
  • Differentiate learning to support students of varying abilities and needs
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
