Looking for an EAL Teacher in Sheffield!

Job Title: EAL Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S5)
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: September 2026

A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a committed and adaptable EAL Teacher to support students with English as an Additional Language across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As an EAL Teacher, you will support students who are developing their English language skills, helping them access the curriculum and progress confidently within the classroom. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to deliver targeted interventions, adapt learning materials and provide consistent support tailored to student needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted EAL support across KS3 and KS4

  • Support students in developing spoken and written English skills

  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual language needs

  • Work closely with teachers to support classroom engagement and progress

  • Build positive relationships with students and families

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff

  • Maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)

  • Experience supporting students with English as an Additional Language

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Patient, adaptable and supportive approach

  • Ability to work effectively within a team

  • Commitment to inclusive education and student development
