Job Title: Safeguarding Officer
Location: Sheffield (S5)
Salary: £130 – £145 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

A supportive and inclusive school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to help promote student wellbeing and maintain a safe, structured learning environment across the school setting.

About the Role:
As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the welfare and safety of students across the school. You will work closely with pastoral teams, senior leaders and external professionals to manage safeguarding concerns, monitor student wellbeing and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the safeguarding and wellbeing of students across the school

  • Work closely with designated safeguarding leads and pastoral staff

  • Monitor attendance, behaviour and welfare concerns

  • Maintain accurate safeguarding records and reports

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies where required

  • Promote a safe, supportive and positive school environment

  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns in line with school policies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures within education settings

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Calm, professional and proactive approach

  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion

  • Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and safety
