Looking for a Qualified SENCO in Sheffield!

Job Title: Qualified SENCO
Location: Sheffield (S9)
Salary: Up to £220 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A number of schools across Sheffield are seeking experienced and dedicated Qualified SENCOs to support the effective delivery of SEND provision and inclusive education across their settings.

About the Role:
As a Qualified SENCO, you will oversee SEND provision within the school, working closely with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure students receive the support they need. You will play a key role in coordinating interventions, monitoring progress and promoting inclusive practices across the school community.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school

  • Coordinate support plans, interventions and EHCP processes

  • Work closely with teachers to ensure effective classroom support strategies

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies regarding student progress

  • Monitor and track the progress of pupils with additional needs

  • Promote inclusive and trauma-informed practices throughout the school

  • Support staff with guidance, training and SEND strategies where required

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards)

  • Previous experience working within a SENCO role or SEND leadership position

  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive education practices

  • Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families

  • Calm, professional and proactive approach
