Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs. You will help students regulate emotions, re-engage with learning, and develop positive coping strategies while supporting them both in and out of the classroom.
Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and structured activities

Work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis

Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner

Support pupils in developing emotional regulation and engagement in learning
-
Help create a safe, structured and positive learning environment

Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and wellbeing
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH needs

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
A calm, patient and resilient approach
-
Ability to de-escalate situations and support positive behaviour
-
A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
