Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time | Part-time | Long-term & Day-to-day

GSL Education are seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Workers to work in schools across Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs in a structured and supportive educational environment.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with students who require additional support with behaviour regulation, engagement, and emotional wellbeing. You will help build positive relationships, encourage participation in learning, and support students in developing confidence and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
- Support students in managing emotions and behaviour positively
- Promote engagement, attendance, and participation in learning
- Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
- Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (desirable)
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model
- Flexible and reliable
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
