Job Title: Care Support Assistant
Location: Gateshead
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Care Support Assistants to work in schools across Gateshead.
This rewarding role involves supporting students with additional care, emotional, and learning needs throughout the school day. The successful candidate will help students engage with learning, develop confidence and independence, and feel supported within a safe and inclusive school environment.
Responsibilities of a Care Support Assistant:
- Support students with additional care and learning needs in the classroom
- Provide one-to-one and small group support when required
- Assist students with daily routines and classroom activities
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
- Support students’ emotional wellbeing and social development
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual student needs
- Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Assist with behaviour management and support plans where appropriate
Care Support Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is desirable
- Caring, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A genuine passion for supporting students’ wellbeing and development
- Relevant care, support work, or education experience is beneficial
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
