Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Newcastle
Pay rate: £95-£115 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you a calm, resilient, and supportive Behaviour Support Assistant who is passionate about helping young people succeed in school?
Schools in Newcastle and GSL Education are calling for a supportive Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
As Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who may find it difficult to engage in learning or manage their emotions. You will help promote positive behaviour, build trusting relationships, and create a structured environment where pupils can thrive.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support.
- Support pupils in managing emotions and behaviour effectively.
- Assist teachers in maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and school policies.
- Encourage engagement, confidence, and positive decision-making.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in behaviour support or working with young people.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- A patient, calm, and consistent approach.
- Ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
