Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £110 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long Term, Full-time
Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:45 PM
Do you have experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant and a strong commitment to supporting children with complex ASD needs?
GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Tower Hamlets.
This rewarding role involves providing tailored 1:1 support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and high-level needs. The successful candidate will support pupils in accessing learning, building confidence, and developing essential social and communication skills within a structured, caring, and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for students with complex ASD needs
- Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development
- Assist students in accessing classroom activities and learning tasks
- Implement personalised support strategies and behaviour plans
- Build strong and positive relationships with students
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
- Support communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs
- Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Minimum 1 year experience supporting children with high-needs ASD
- Recent primary school-based experience
- Experience supporting SEN students on a 1:1 basis
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting learners
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
