Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Northumberland
Pay rate: £95 - £115 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are searching for a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Northumberland, providing tailored support to students with special educational needs.
In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping them engage with lessons and develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the role:
As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play an important role in supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, adapting your approach to suit individual learning styles and ensuring a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Core Responsibilities of SEN TA:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist in implementing individual education plans and support strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff

- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, adaptable, and caring approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

- Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
