Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sunderland
Pay rate: £95 - £115 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with additional needs?

Schools in Sunderland and GSL Education are hiring motivated Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to provide tailored support within the classroom.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may require additional support with learning, communication, or behaviour. You will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported, confident, and encouraged to achieve their potential.

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for SEN pupils.
  • Assist students with classroom activities and learning tasks.
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting SEN pupils or in a similar role.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding practices.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
