Teaching Assistant

Salary: £85–£110 per day (dependent on experience)

A welcoming and supportive school in Durham is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils in their learning and helping them achieve their full potential within the classroom.
The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to support pupils across a range of year groups and abilities. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support, work with small groups and help create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
- Promoting positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.
- Helping to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:
- Have previous experience working with children or young people.
- Be patient, adaptable and supportive in approach.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be confident supporting pupils with varying abilities and needs.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
- Have a fully checkable work history.
