GSL Education is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join a welcoming Special School in Southwark as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, long-term, term-time only opportunity, ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.

The school caters for students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), providing a supportive and structured environment where students are encouraged to develop both academically and socially. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom, working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored support. Responsibilities may include 1:1 support, small group interventions, assisting with communication and sensory activities, and promoting positive behaviour and engagement.

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEND, MLD, or SLD
  • Be patient, caring, and adaptable
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
