IT Technician
Location: Hackney
Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Monday, 18th May 2026
Contract Type: Temporary Cover (until 17th July 2026, with potential to be extended)
GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a reliable and experienced IT Technician to work a coeducational secondary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on individual with strong technical skills to contribute to the smooth running of the school’s IT systems and infrastructure.
About the Role:
As an IT Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the school’s IT environment, ensuring that staff and students have access to fully functioning systems and equipment. This is a full-time, on-site role, ideal for someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced educational setting.
Responsibilities for IT Technician:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and software applications.
- Manage user accounts, including password resets and updating group memberships.
- Provide first-line support for IT issues across the school.
- Replace toner cartridges and resolve printer issues such as paper jams.
- Carry out classroom maintenance, including replacing faulty peripherals (mice, keyboards, monitors, etc.).
- Ensure all IT equipment is functioning safely and effectively.
Requirements for IT Technician:
- Basic IT support knowledge
- Experience installing Windows and software applications
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Experience working in a school or similar environment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Must be available to start immediately
