Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and professional Attendance Officers to work in schools across Sheffield.
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in monitoring attendance, following up on absences, and working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive the support they need.
Responsibilities of an Attendance Officer:
- Monitor and maintain accurate student attendance records
- Follow up on absences and lateness with parents and carers
- Work closely with pastoral teams and school staff to improve attendance
- Identify attendance concerns and support intervention strategies
- Maintain confidential and accurate documentation and reports
- Build positive relationships with students and families
- Ensure attendance procedures comply with school policies and safeguarding requirements
- Support the overall wellbeing and engagement of students
Requirements of an Attendance Officer:
- Previous experience in an attendance, administration, pastoral, or school-based role is desirable
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information professionally and confidentially
- A calm, professional, and approachable manner
- Good IT and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
