GSL Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and highly regarded secondary school in the Winchester area, currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide tailored support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within lessons and around the school
  • Working 1:1 with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Delivering small group interventions and targeted learning support
  • Assisting students in accessing the curriculum across a range of subjects
  • Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Supporting literacy, numeracy, and emotional wellbeing
  • Helping to manage behaviour positively and consistently
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

  • Confident supporting students with a range of additional needs
  • Experienced working with young people in schools, care, coaching, youth work, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)
