Location: Newham
Salary: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: Sep 2026
Contract: Long Term until May 2027
GSL Education London Branch is excited to be recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school for girls with a mixed gender 6th form in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Geography Teacher who is looking to inspire young minds and make a real difference in the classroom.
The school is looking for an enthusiastic Geography Teacher who can deliver engaging and creative lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. The successful Geography Teacher will join a supportive department with excellent leadership and a strong focus on student achievement.
This role is ideal for an experienced Geography Teacher who enjoys creating exciting learning experiences and helping students develop a strong understanding of the world around them. The school offers excellent facilities, supportive staff, and a positive learning environment where every Geography Teacher is valued and encouraged to grow professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5
- Support students in achieving strong academic progress
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess, monitor and track student performance
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
- Work closely with colleagues and parents to support student development
- Contribute to departmental planning and school activities
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a Geography Teacher in UK schools
- Strong subject knowledge in Geography
- Ability to teach Geography across secondary key stages
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passion for education and student success
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
