Job Title: 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Pay rate: £105 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from dedicated 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Sheffield. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support to pupils who require additional guidance to engage with learning and manage their emotions.
As a 1:1 Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with an individual pupil, helping them build confidence, develop positive behaviours, and succeed within the classroom environment.
Core Duties of 1:1 SEMH TA:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs.
- Help pupils manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship to encourage engagement and progress.
- Support the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities.
- Promote a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to staff.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
- Patient, calm, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain consistent and supportive in challenging situations.
- Genuine passion for supporting pupils’ wellbeing and development.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
