Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking motivated and knowledgeable Geography Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley.
As a Geography Teacher, you will inspire students to explore and understand the physical and human world, developing their critical thinking and geographical awareness along the way. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or newly qualified, this is a rewarding opportunity to shape how young people engage with some of the most pressing issues of our time.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, preparing students thoroughly for GCSE examinations
- Develop pupils' understanding of physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to challenge and support learners of all abilities
- Assess student progress regularly and provide meaningful, actionable feedback
- Foster curiosity, independent thinking, and a broader awareness of the world
- Manage your classroom effectively, maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement
- Contribute to departmental planning, trips, and wider school initiatives where appropriate
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- A degree in Geography or a closely related subject
- Classroom experience teaching Geography at secondary level is desirable
- Confident subject knowledge spanning both physical and human geography
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students
- A dedicated, reflective, and professional approach to teaching
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application)
